Gene Zwozdesky: The Man & His Music

Gene Zwozdesky: The Man & His Music

On September 17th, join us as we celebrate the music of Gene Zwozdesky – the namesake of the new Gene Zwozdesky Centre at Norwood!

His legacy as an educator, politician and volunteer are renowned but for those that knew Gene, you know nothing could separate this Man from His Music.

Join us for a special tribute in honour of Gene Zwozdesky and his most iconic musical accomplishments. Whether you grew up listening to his Kazka children’s albums or you’ve clapped along to Shumka’s unforgettable Hopak, Gene’s melodic compositions have touched us all. In his 60-year career as a songwriter, arranger and producer, he created music in all genres, from choral folk pieces to witty country songs and patriotic melodies for the love of his country and culture.

Proceeds from “Gene Zwozdesky: A Man and His Music” support the Gene Zwozdesky Centre at Norwood and Capital Care’s Stepping Up For Norwood campaign. Consider making a donation to the GENE ZWOZDESKY: The Man & His Music Campaign fund and your donation will be matched by a generous supporter.

Featuring special guests Shumka, Cheremosh, John Stetch, and many more..
